I have known Sue since the early “Global
TV” days and the apartment on Church Street. So
I guess I have known Sue longer than you?

Cut back to two shot - Greg not happy
You’re just old ---er than Sue and me, you know
she’s really just 18 with 32 years of experience.
OOO that’s good. (more laughter this is quickly
becoming a favourite one liner.)

All right, moving on. What is the single, most interesting
thing that sticks in your mind that we can use to describe
I think the comment that Loren Mawhinney made last week
at dinner says it best. Sue is happy living in the moment.
Whatever or wherever that moment happens to be. I’d
say that sums it up pretty nicely. What about you?
The entertainer. Give her a mic -or not- and she will
belt out a song anywhere and at anytime -just ask Geoff.
She loves the stage and she says that she has no fear
of getting up in front of people. And it shows. I don’t
remember her ever having any fear even during the “Karaoke
Ahh the Karaoke days…Remember the party she had
at her apartment on Church Street? She even rented a
Karaoke machine for that party and they were really
Yeah, that night everyone seemed to want a piece of
the microphone…Sue had to wrestle it away from
the “doo-wop boys” as I recall.
That was some party… Hey remember, when Sue and
Geoff moved in up the street. Just seven houses away…I
knew it would be great having them as nieghbours.
Don’t you remember? The day they moved in, they
came down the street. I offered them a drink. They both
opened their coats and already had drinks on the go.
And look how quickly they assimilated into life in the
Beach. And what about the kids?
I don’t want anymore.
No, I mean Sue and Geoff’s kids. Sam and Katharine.
They are great kids and our son loves the fact that
they have known each other for practically all their
No, no, no I’m talking about how she juggles.
Juggles? Sue doesn’t juggle!
Sure she does…you know her singing, working, being
mom, wife, Fall Fair Host and beaches socialite.
Sue definitely does all of those things well and at
once. But she doesn’t juggle.
And don’t forget Canadian Idol.
You know I just read in Playback that she is doing such
a great job with the Canadian Idol’s preshow that
they are actually getting great ratings.
But it isn’t on TV…
I told you she was good!!!!
Cut to: Jamie entering home office
to see what Mom and Dad are doing
What are you guys doing?
We are trying to write something clever to post on Sue’s
50th Birthday Surprise Website.
You know Dad, I heard Mom say that you're older and
Sue is really 18 with 32 years of …
Yes Jamie, isn’t your mother smart…
Catie entering home office to see what Mom and Dad are
What are you guys doing?
Something for Sue’s Birthday website.
Dad do you know, I heard Jamie say you're older and
that Sue is really 18 years…
I KNOW, I KNOW!!
Oh yeah, this is the website that Geoff sent “the
Secret Email” about.
How do you know about that?
Jamie and I read all your emails.
Yeah, Sam Rowan said that we should always check them
out, that way you are never surprised by what your parents
say or do.
Can we get back to Sue!!!
I thought you were supposed send pictures or videos.
Your father, who has known Sue “MUCH LONGER”
than I have, doesn’t file pictures very well.
So what are you going to do if you don’t have
We are trying to figure that out.
Why don’t we just wish her a Happy 18th Birthday!!!
The simplicity of his children’s
(and his much younger wife’s) statement finally
registers in Greg’s “MUCH OLDER”
